Our Story

ZIJGO has been active in China since 2008 and has been based in Hong Kong since 2020. This is due to the favorable trade agreements and our independent position. Our team operates daily in China for our clients’ projects.

ZIJGO is translated from the Chinese 采购 (Cai Gou), pronounced “zij-go” in Dutch. This literally means “purchase.” It is also a nod to the Silk Road, the ancient trade route from China to the West. This route is now more relevant than ever. And ZIJGO wants to utilize the Dutch trading mentality, which is widely respected in China, as an optimal tool in its collaborations.

ZIJGO wants its clients to experience that doing business in China can be challenging, but with the right partners and guidance, it can lead to success for many. This positive approach is essential because China’s innovation and strength offer limitless possibilities. ZIJGO is inspired by the people, the (trading) culture, and the diversity and mentality of doing business in China.
